Grant was a good friend of my father Don. They both shared their passion for koi. My father died in 1984 and I was lucky enough to spend some time with Grant at his house before he passed. It meant the world to me that he took the time to share stories of his life and family. I remember playing with his daughter as a little boy and was able to reconnect after so many years. I wish you peace my friend

Met Grant a couple times. After knowing Miki for several years, I could then realize where she got her kindness and good heart.

One of Grant's greatest things is that he loves to teach and share his koi knowledge. That was the main reason why I came to his house and asked him to serve as the first President of ZNA NorCal. He was happy and accepted to serve within a heartbeat.

Always thought I knew all about Koi until I met Grant….The man once told me to shut my mouth and listen before I asked so many questions….he loved to talk when you had a topic of Interest….I got the man once to explain the Dainichi Bloodline and his friend Minoru Mano to me over a 1hour long phone call when we were in office with ZNA NorCal….miss those days and those conversations with him. The koi community has lost a great one. RIP Fujitasan

Grant was very much part of the Pan Intercorp Burkard/Schmidt family from way-back-when.
Here he is at the very first Koi Fest which was the precursor to the Nozomi Young Koi Show.
Standing next to him is my daughter Jessica, who absolutely adored him. Grant played an important part in instilling and cultivating the appreciation and understanding of the subtlety and elegance of Japanese culture, not only in my daughter, but in everyone that came into contact with him.

To Master Grant Fujita, Sensei to us all.
I know you are probably organizing Koi classes up there right now. I will miss our visits and times talking about Koi, family, life.
We will miss you and think of you often.

Grant was a good friend I have known him for many years. Him and Mello got me in to Koi over thirty years ago and just got back in to it a few month back. He will truly be missed by many. Thank for the scotch I’ll have one in your honor.

Grant was as classy and genuine as anyone I have ever known. His life was consumed by giving to others. He loved sharing his knowledge in the most humble fashion. He was a man I admired and was honored to know as a friend

I will forever remember Master Grant Fujita. I always loved listening to him talk. He would say:
"You don't buy koi for today but for the future.
He always remembered my name.

I told my daughter Ann about Grant just leaving us, she cried. When Ann was a young kid, I always took her to ZNA NorCal or any koi event, Ann always stands by Grant to listen and learn, each time we met, the first thing Grant asked was "how is Ann". I can tell how much he loves Ann. Hers is a picture of Grant and my daughter Ann. Grant is not just our koi teacher, who loved to teach and share his knowledge, but we are good friends.
