Dear Jane, Joseph, Julie Anne, John, Michael and the whole Miller and Lambourn family
I am expressing all my sympathy. I am truly and deeply sorry. I am extremely sad and shocked and confused.
I simply cannot comprehend that I'll never again share time with my extensively interested, highly thoughtful and responsible and open-minded friend.
I had the great pleasure of making Gibson's acquaintance while I was a visiting student at Western more than ten years ago. Our reunion last year in Paris was definitely an unforgettable highlight for both of us.
I will always remember his bright, heartfelt and sophisticated nature.
All my love
Claudia
Claudia, I'm re-posting to you as I believe I was numb when I first posted. We also are sad, shocked and confused and always will be. We are left with our happy memories. One lovely memory was was his report on his visit to Paris with you this past summer. He was so excited about the trip and I was impressed by his planning for the trip. He had so much fun. Thank you so much for sharing the trip with him.
Take care and be well.
With deep regards.

Sympathy and love to the Miller Family and all cousins from one generation to the next. I remember Gibson's paternal grandparents Aunt Marie and Uncle Bert; Marie was next to my Dad Gordon LaRocque in their family. I wonder if Gibson was at the London family reunion in 2015.....our hearts are with you at this sad, but hopeful time. May Gibson rest in peace in the heart of a beloved family. Yvonne and Glen thank you for your kind words and for thinking of us. It’s just so hard to comprehend. We're forever second guessing ourselves about what we could have done differently but know in our hearts that it's an impossible thing to do. We miss him terribly, knowing as parents, we wanted to help but couldn't reach him.
Take care.

Gibson and my son, Alex Ricker, were good friends growing up. I remember Gibson as a quiet, yet friendly and polite kid. What I remember the most was the giant Cadillac (?) that he drove with such pride!

I have known Gibson since he was born. There is one event that I will remember him about him forever. I repeat it to friends often. We were at a bowling alley and his mom took him to the washroom. When he came out, he just started to run. I saw him and thought oh no, and also ran towards him while Jane tried to catch up to him. Neither of us caught him. He grabbed a bowling ball and threw it down the lane. It crashed against the pin protecting guard. I will never forget that. He was an athlete even then. I will also remember his lattes. He made the best lattes for me at his his home when I came over to have a coffee with his mom. You are at peace now Gibson. Karin
Thank you Karin for the great memory and you kind words.
Take care.

Gibson was a regular at my Starbucks. He was always well spoken and kind when I interacted with him. I will forever think of him when I make a Komodo Dragon pour-over, or anything with micro-foam. My deepest condolences, for you and your family.
Amber it was obvious to me that you and your staff enjoyed Gibson's visits for coffee with his mom. We wish to publicly thank Starbucks for their generosity and thoughtfulness in honouring Gibson.

DearJoe, Jane, Our daughter Tara just informed us of Gibson's death and my mind went to him generously sharing his hamster with our children when our hamster died. I kept the birthday card he brought over for its birthday for many years. I also remember his birth as you had just birthed him, Jane when I was admitted for Tara's birth. You were carrying him about so proudly, Joe. I am so sad for your loss of your son. Our children truly are our hearts. He impressed me as a boy with heart so I'm sure he was a man with heart too. Depression is a mountain too high for many suffering it so we sadly lose them to early.
Betty what a wonderful memory! Thank you so much for your kind thoughts.
Take care.

Uncle Joe, Jane, and our dearest cousin Michael,
Our hearts are with you all at this impossible time. The incredible warmth of Gibby’s spirit will live long through each of you and the many friends and family who mourn alongside you. He was our baby cousin and will always be remembered for his kindness, strength in the face of an impossible battle, and positive energy.
When we told MacKenzie that one of our cousins had passed, he very aptly reminded us of all the incredible people waiting for him in heaven - relatives and dogs alike. We’ve been leaning into this innocent perspective as we struggle to find peace.
We love you with all our hearts and will cherish the time we had Gibby.

The Miller family and Fowler families lives have long been entwined. First, my first mention must be to Gibson's beautiful mother, Jane. I don't know you well but I fully recognize a mother's love, so true and caring. Father, Joe, brother, Michael P., and Aunties, Uncles, Cousins and friends too numerous to mention - my deepest heartfelt condolence. I can proudly state my partner and I met Gibson at Mario's Pizzaria on Clarence St.(1988 or early 1989) We were all proud parents with newborns in tow to a restaurant.

Dear Jane and Michael,
We are lost for words. We shared many family memories growing up, from ski trips to simple basement hangouts.
The last time we celebrated all together was at Kathleen’s wedding. We are thankful for the memories of Gibson smiling, having fun and reconnecting.
We will miss him dearly.
Love,
Danielle and family

The kindest, warmest and most pure soul I have met. Gibson always met me with the widest smile and the most snuggly hug. We held a fun and joyful space for each other and I would always look forward to spending time with him whether we tried to cook, play board games or watch SNL. He will live on in my heart and many others' and is so deeply missed.

What a lovely young man. Words can’t really express how sorry I am to hear about Gibson. I remember meeting Gibson over the years and recalling his gentle kind spirit. We had the pleasure of Gibson painting our house and he was so accommodating and such enjoyable company. And an excellent painter! I’m so sorry to all the family for this heartbreaking. loss.

I'm typically not one for words but I wanted to make sure that I shared my gratitude for The Millers for taking me in one holiday to share their Christmas as I was unable to make the trip back NB with my own family.
Mike, Jane and Gibson took me in as one of their own, made me feel so welcome and cozy during the entirety of the trip - an honorary Miller. I'll always remember Gibson's calm demeanour, his thoughtfulness and his genuine kindness. Gibson had a knack at enjoying life's simple pleasures that often get overlooked by most people. He was able to see the beauty in the smaller things and you could feel that warmth and compassion throughout any conversation or encounter you had with him.
My deepest condolences and my thoughts are with his family, friends and anyone's lives he touched.

Gibson is one of our special nephews. He presented himself as soft-spoken, gentle, patient, kind, thoughtful and polite. He was always willing to lend a hand. He loved the cottage and beach area. I believe watching the calmness of the lake, as waves rolled in, brought him a mindful peace.
When we talked with him a few weeks ago, as JoAnne and I were heading to the cottage, things were good - he was doing great. We told him that we were proud of him and his accomplishments. His voice was calm and his words were appreciative.
The emotionals are all over the place but, what's important is ....
Gibby is at peace. He will be missed sincerely.
