On the evening of 26 January 2023, Alex Willis of Eastbourne, East Sussex died aged 76.Alex was born to Alex and Hilda Willis in 1946 in Glasgow, Scotland.
With a strong love for the sea, Alex spent a short time in the Navy before moving to Redwood City California. It was in California that Alex met his wife of 50 years, Nancy Willis, whilst building a beautiful sailboat.
Together Alex and Nancy raised three children, Stephen, Stephanie, and Sandra. In 1987 Alex, Nancy and their kids moved to Eastbourne, East Sussex where he became a well-known local author and luthier.
Alex was a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Devout Christian, a True Gentleman and Friend to many. He will be sorely missed.

Alex a true old school gentleman who had a soft calm gentle voice and friendly demeanor.
I spent many days with him when he worked at Essex Water Company, I learnt much from Alex not only inTelecommunications but life too. What is his legacy ,,,,well multi talented man in so many areas but for me a kind caring compassionate man who had time for everyone, a kind word for all and a man who lived his life and loved his God. I had planned to visit this year sadly not to be . Rest well my Telecom chum it was a privilege to know you . David
