Biography


LOS ALAMOS - Abbe June Neal of Los Alamos, New Mexico passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 14th at the age of 64.


Abbe was born in Boone, North Carolina on August 20th, 1956 to Shirley Hartley and Grady Lionell Lewis. She attended classes at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and worked as a Librarian until dedicating herself to raising her two children. She had a vibrant and fun personality and had a passion for traveling, reading, and creating art. She was very loved and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. The family would like to thank the caregivers who helped her through her last few months.


Abbe is survived by her daughter Kelsey Neal, son Ryan (Sarah Baugher) Neal, mother Shirley Lewis, former spouse Thomas Neal, and sisters Kathy Lackey and Rebecca Lewis. She is predeceased by her sister Laurie Weeks Lewis and father Grady Lewis.


A burial for Abbe will be held at 12:00 pm on July 22nd at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos, NM. All those who cared for her are welcome to attend.

I remember sweet Abbe from our childhood. We spent a lot of time together when we lived in Hialeah. She was always so happy and absolutely beautiful! When we were teenagers, we had such a strong bond. As we grew up and had families of our own time slipped by. She was always in my thoughts. We found each other again in Angier NC. God blessed us with a couple of years in the same neighborhood
