As a longtime fan and avid watcher of "Jeopardy" with the incomparable Alex Trebek as the premier show's host beyond compare- I would like to state unequivocally just how so fortunate we are to call him our own as fellow Université d'Ottawa alumni's and also as Canadians and yes- Global Citizens too. When my son was born on Canada's 125th Birthday and when the Toronto Blue Jays won their first World Series in 1992- I named him Alexandre after Alex Trebek.
My thoughts are with the Trebek family and to Alex; you lived a full and exemplary life! We are so proud!

I was fortunate to spend a day with Alex as a U of Ottawa Alumni board member in 2016. We arranged for him a visit to Question Period on the hill and he was recognized by the Speaker of the House and the entire House of Commons. A truly remarkable man who was grounded and very respectful. RIP Alex. Thank you for everything you have done for University of Ottawa.

Goodbye to Alex Trebek, a good Sudbury boy— who spent 37 years with “Jeopardy!” — and who died today of pancreatic cancer at 80, 10 days after taping his last episode. 10 days. I watch Jeopardy two or three times a week, and cannot turn the channel until I get a correct answer. Or sweep the category. Sweeping the category is WAY better, btw. Jeez, OCD anyone? And the answer is “ what is a class act ?” The question ? Who was Alex Trebek. Great show. Good run. For a good man.

I got to meet Alex Trebek in May 2015. I was privileged to have a short encounter with him. The first photo turned out blurry. He was nice enough to allow me to take a new photo. I am a huge Jeopardy fan and barely ever miss an episode. There are some episodes where I can give the answer to every question and others when I'm not as successful. I would like to be a jeopardy contestant one day. I send my condolences to his friends and family. He was a true legend and will be missed.

I was so blessed to meet my hero, Alex Trebek, at a Jeopardy! audition in Toronto a few years ago. I will miss my nightly date at 7:30 with this humorous and humble terrific Canadian. Many wishes for peace and healing for his beloved family, and Godspeed, Mr. Trebek, into the next round of play.
