Russell Arthur Roy, 66, of Parkersburg died February 8, 2020 at the Hospital Camden Clark Medical Center. . . . . . . Russell was born on August 4, 1953 in Elkins, WV. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Roy; two daughters, Heather Roy (Patrick Abicht) and Kelly Roy Komura (Toshiaki Komura); one granddaughter, Lily Komura; his parents, William and Wanda Roy; his sister, Lisa Roy; his brother, Ronald Roy; and his beloved pets. Russ did a lot of work with local history and genealogy. He took it upon himself to manually index all of Parkersburg's obituaries so that others would have easy access to them. This was a huge venture which he worked on for many years. He completed the years 1841 up to 1918 and was still working on the project. He had made over twenty index volumes, many of which he donated to local libraries. He was a past recipient of West Virginia History Heroes for his work.
