Gary L. Teters, Sr.

Gary was born on April 12, 1949 in Parkersburg, WV. He lived his life in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

He served as a young Marine in the Vietnam War, earning a Purple Heart as a result of his injuries. He was a proud Veteran. 

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and trading with his friends. Anyone who knew him joked that he was always on the wrong side of a trade, but he loved getting new (to him) stuff for old stuff - regardless of the value. The value to him was spending time with his buddies.

He married his wife Patty in 1996. For nearly 20 years, he was her compassionate caregiver. Sadly, she preceded him in death by just 29 days. 

He is survived by his children, Gary (Cyndee) Teters, Jr., Jennifer (Tom) Sams & Brian (Jessica) Warden. He also had several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gary ultimately lost his short battle with cancer, but he fought hard. Over his 75 years, he fought for his country, his wife’s health, and then his own well-being. He will be remembered not only for that Purple Heart, but for his heart of gold that his friends and family will definitely miss.

A private cremation will take place at Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society.
