“You can’t make no money laying in the Be.”
Bill was born on May 14, 1952, in Columbus, Mississippi, he was one of five boys to his parents William and Lizzie Trimble. Over his lifetime he resided in Mississippi, Chicago, Illinois, and Los Angeles, California. In the early 1970’s he was introduced to his future wife Virginia Akins. He played the slow game from the start, first they shared many phone calls – she fell for his smooth voice, then short visits building a real friendship, until fate stepped in, and they both fell in love. They married in 1974 and as they say the rest is history. They enjoyed a loving partnership for 34 years until she passed away in 2008. Together they brought their children William and Larece into the world. The family was later blessed with 6 grandchildren. As a husband, father, and grandfather he was dependable, thoughtful, and an excellent provider. He was very active in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He provided guidance, he was a problem solver, and when there was a huge problem to solve, he would call a family meeting. He was a confidant who did not gossip or betray anyone’s trust. He taught lessons, like the importance of hard work, saving money, and paying your bills on time. He was helpful and present: he never missed a birthday;he always had snacks for his grandchildren; and he made a point of dropping his grandchildren off at school and picking them up so that he could see them every day and help the parents.
