Recuerdos

The Man That Gravity Forgot — but never forgotten by those he lifted.

Benjamin Willard Satterley was born on 22 August 1986 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, to Jill and Stephen Satterley. An exceptionally athletic child who played basketball, football, hockey, and swam competitively, he discovered professional wrestling through an aunt who was a devoted WWF fan. Banned from watching it at home, young Ben would travel to his aunt's house to watch matches, idolizing The Undertaker and "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan — a passion that would quietly shape the entire course of his life. At eighteen, he enrolled at St Joseph's Hall in Gateshead, training under Mark Sloan, and made his professional debut on 27 March 2004 for the Independent Wrestling Federation under the ring name Pac — a name born from a childhood joke with his father about his remarkably visible abs. While chasing his dream in those early years, he worked night shifts at a courier factory to make ends meet, competing on the British independent circuit with a hunger that was unmistakable. From 2007, Ben became a cornerstone of Dragon Gate in Japan, winning the Open the Brave Gate, Twin Gate, and Triangle Gate championships and earning a reputation across the international wrestling world — for PWG in California, Ring of Honor, Chikara, and beyond. In 2012, WWE signed him, reintroducing him as Adrian Neville. He rose through NXT — becoming the first and only performer to hold both the NXT Championship and NXT Tag Team Championship — before ascending to the main roster, where the nickname "The Man That Gravity Forgot" followed him everywhere. His Red Arrow finishing move was a thing of breathtaking beauty, and as a two-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion and record-breaking reign holder, he elevated every match he entered. After departing WWE in 2018 and returning to Dragon Gate to claim the Open the Dream Gate Championship, he joined All Elite Wrestling in January 2019 as one of its first signings. In AEW, Ben — performing as Pac or "The Bastard" — was a centrepiece of some of the promotion's most celebrated matches, winning the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Championship and the AEW World Trios Championship twice. Quiet and introverted off-camera, he was known equally for his extraordinary in-ring artistry and for mentoring younger wrestlers, protecting the locker room, and bringing Kinder Eggs from England to the children of his American friends. On 26 September 2026, Ben wrestled his final match at AEW All Out in Chicago. He died the following day at age forty. No cause was made public. He is survived by his wife, Natalie. The wrestling world mourned one of its finest.

Ben protected and took care of the cruiserweight brothers every week. I will never forget his kindness. I will never forget the feeling of realizing he is the absolute best all around performer I have been in the ring with.
