Matthew "Mather" Atencio Jr. passed away November 12, 2019 in Englewood, CO. Mather was born to Cindy Atencio(Barela) and Matthew Atencio Sr. on March 1, 1993 in Albuquerque NM. He was the only boy born of 4 children. He is survived by father Matthew; step mother Stacy(Martinez); sisters Andrea(Jeremy), Ali, Ana, and Gabi; grandmothers Rosemarie Atencio and Joann Barela; goddaughter Aubriella; nephew Jesse; niece Arabella; and so many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and Friends. He is proceeded in death by his Mother;Cindy Atencio(Barela), Grandfathers;Joseph Barela and Melvin Atencio, Uncles;Anthony Barela, James Barela and Aunt Beverly Miller(Barela)

I'm sorry brother I wish I knew what I know now I wish I would of not held onto stupid grudges and petty crap im sorry I wasn't there to say good bye I didn't think it was my place anymore I wish things would of been different I've let you and so many other people slip away to the point its to late i only hope that God sees you for the real matt the help anyone give your shirt off your back and share your last ciggerate do anything for your family and let you into that cloud city that paradise you so deserve. I mean, it's the worst goodbye we have ever had. You are so special to many and to accept our reality is surreal, however it's the strength to overcome. Every single day we think about you pray for you and cry for you, even though some days seem more. I cant thank you enough what you have done for my girls, my husband, and myself.
