Forever in our Hearts.
Our hearts are broken today. On April 25th, 2020, our loving mother, sister, and Nana, Annette Chana Amiel (née Semana), passed away after a swift battle. Annette was the wife of the late Jacques Amiel; mother and mother-in-law of Joseph and Josée, Michelle, Ruth and Maurice; grandmother to Alex, Vanessa, Audrey, Jason, Mandy and Andrea; sister and sister-in-law of Rachel, Simone and Claude, David and Viva, Jacob and Viviane, Albert, and Henri.
Annette was born in Morocco, and moved to Montreal, Canada to start a new life with her family. She and Jacques Amiel were the most beautiful couple, parents, and grandparents. They loved and were loved by their entire community.
Annette was the most incredible, talkative, stubborn but loving woman. She had the loudest, most contagious laugh and made sure that everyone was always laughing with her. Love and family were always expressed with her love to cook and feed everyone - from her famous couscous, mufleta, boulettes, soup, beaver tails and all the "vegan" treats she would make her grandchildren. She brought joy to all of those around her, and held the family together. We love you so much.

Ma grand-mère, Nana, était une femme qui n’avait pas peur de s’exprimer et ceci en plusieurs langues. Malgré tous ses centres d’intérêts, c’était sa famille qui lui tenait le plus à cœur. Elle disait que c’était sa richesse. Elle ne laisser jamais passer une occasion d’exprimer son amour et sa fierté pour ses enfants, petits-enfants et ses arrières petits-
enfants. Elle nous épatait toujours avec sa mémoire d’éléphant, puisqu’elle n’oubliait jamais un anniversaire ou un événement. J’adorais entendre ses histoires de ses nombreux voyages. Elle m’encourageait toujours à faire comme elle et de vivre de nouvelles expériences partout dans le monde. Je me souviendrai toujours de mes fins de
semaine avec mes grands-parents. Elle m’amenait à la piscine et était très fière de me présenter à tout le monde. Lorsque nous revenions, elle me servait mon repas préféré, même si elle était capable de cuisiner des millions d’autres plats délicieux, je voulais toujours la soupe aux nouilles avec fromage

Serge (fils de Simone) et sa famille Dany (sa femme) et ses 2 fils Yoram et Keanu, extrêmement peinés, s'associent à la douleur de toute la famille de Tatie Annette qui nous a malheureusement quitté et vous accompagnent dans ce chemin infiniment douloureux avec tout notre amour.

I didn’t know her, but she must have been a beautiful mother to have given us Ruth. I am so very sorry for your loss. May your spirits and minds be filled with all of the Joy you shared together.
