Steven Alexander Sherwood Alex

Mr. Steven Alexander Sherwood, passed from this life, in the morning hours of Saturday, February 1st, 2020. He was 28 yrs of age. "Alex" Sherwood was welcomed by his parents Kathy Kinsel and William Douglas Sherwood Jr., on January 4th, 1992 in Ft Worth, Tx He grew up in the Arlington area as well as in the cities of Alvarado and Mansfield, Texas. Alex was active in various sports throughout school. Most especially baseball and basketball. He graduated from Juan Seguin High School in Arlington, Tx. Class of 2010 Alex had a zest for fun and adventure and enjoyed all things outdoors. He had a smile and personality that would light up the room once he entered. He was loving and kind and rarely met a stranger. Although Alex struggled off and on with addiction issues, he never forgot his true beliefs of kindness, doing for others before self, and to treat everyone equally and fairly. He was on a constant search for a greater purpose and had a lifelong goal of becoming a teacher. His family hopes he is forever remembered for the qualities mentioned above as well as his quick witted humor, his writing, and his music. He was a child of the water and spent endless hours fishing and exploring Galveston and everything regarding the Gulf of Mexico and all the marine life within it's waters. Alex Sherwood was preceded in death by his father, Doug Sherwood. He is survived by his mother Kathy and his 2 brothers Christ and Nicholas. In addition, Alex is survived by a host of many uncle's, aunts and cousins. All of whom he loved dearly. The family wishes to recognize his paternal grandmother Betty Colleen Sherwood and most especially his maternal grandparents Consuelo and Jack Schooley, who had a heavy hand in raising, and lovingly guiding their Sherwood grandchildren.
