Souvenirs

Melcor Rael, 78 of Llano Quemado, formerly of Arroyo Hondo passed away on February 8, 2009. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mercedes Rael, daughter Shirley Hicks, parents, Leandro & Genara Rael, brothers, Inocencio, Manuel, Ebaristo, Onofre, Amado, and Felimon Rael, Meliton Martinez, sisters, Lucy Cassinat, Virginia Rael, Maria Torres and Alicia Ortiz. He is survived by granddaughter, Karen Hicks, great grandsons, Christopher and Matthew, serveral nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rosary was recited on February 10, 2009 at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Funeral mass was held on February 11, 2009 at San Francisco de Asis Church with interment following at the New Llano Quemado Cemetery.

My Grandmother was Teddy Garcia the daughter of Manuel & Anita Rael. Aunt Lucy would come visit us mostly every summer in Taos during my childhood. My thought and well wishes are with the family. Love, Andy

Palmela E. Ortiz-Reed

To my dear Uncle we will miss you very much. Even though you are in a much better place. Seeing your beautiful eyes and hearing your joyful laugh will be greatly missed. Your great niece's Alicia & Sophia will miss taking your vanilla milk shakes to you. But they will always keep you in their hearts. You always made them feel very loved, as well as all of us. Rosa S. Ortiz

Dear Tio Melcor (Green Eyes) every time I stopped by to see you we both shed tears for my Mom & your dear sister (Alicia Rael Ortiz)now you are there with her along with all our loved relatives that have passed on so you can tell them we miss them all. I loved you so much wished I could have spend more time with you but our sister Bernadette took care of all of us by being there all the time doing everything she could in our behalf. From me and my daughter Maria and grandchildren may you have Eternal Rest. Love You

Guera

Melcor you will be missed. I worked with Melcor while he was at the living center. He was grumpy at times but always lit a smile when he saw me. We know that now he is resting and no longer suffering! My condolences to his family! Guera
