Janice Pauline Melder

Funeral services for Janice Pauline Melder will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Amiable Baptist Church with a visitation to follow.
Janice, 72, of Glenmora entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 16. She was born on September 15, 1951 in Great Bend, Kansas to the union of Champion Fredrick McNett and Marie Alice McNett. Janice married Roger Melder in September of 1981 and the two raised their family in Glenmora. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She spent a career in geriatric nursing, devoted to caring for others. She loved to read, crochet, and more than anything to spend time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Raymond McNett; and her oldest son, Champion “Butch” McNett. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Shawn Melder of Forest Hill, and Erik Melder of Alexandria; one daughter in law, Stella McNett of Alexandria; one sister, Catherine (Howard) Johnson, of Great Bend, Kansas; two brothers, Marvin (Marcia) McNett of Sylvia, Kansas, and Fred McNett of Great Bend, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Natasha, Marie, Kevin, Victoria, Travis, Champion (Abbie), Luke (Colbie), Jesse, Benjamin, and Tylin; seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
