To my father, Dr. Byron W.M. Hill, In 1998, you began your rest in the silence of time with no return. Now that I am a grown man, I often reflect on all the lessons you taught me growing up as a little boy, your son, and I realize how significantly you helped, not only me, but hundreds of others, with your love for life, skill as a surgeon, and joy for family. I can't imagine the courage you must have had before the news that clouded your future and during the fight. The impact you have made on this Earth is permanent and felt by me, those you saved and those you healed. Dad, I respect all you have done, I miss you and I love you!
