When I transferred from Malaysia to study in Singapore, I moved into his house. With zero English conversational skill when I first came to Singapore when I was 13 years old, not only did he welcome my stay in his home with much warmth and hospitality, 姑丈was also the main person who gave me the opportunity to practice my English conversational skills. He was also the one whom I ran to for refuge when I was totally shocked that I couldn't understand a word when I had my first history lesson taught in English medium! Ever since then, 姑丈 kept spurring me on, building my English foundation until I became more confident in my command of English. I also had the honor of working with him during my 1+years of working life in HK Amko, together with my two other cousins. 姑丈 was a man of prudence and integrity. Always giving, always selfless, always cheerful, always enthusiastic! Dearest 姑丈, we shall miss you dearly... I love you, 姑丈, thank you for your generosity, encouragement, love, selflessness and warmth! May The Lord's grace and mercy be upon you. Amen! 🙏
