Josie Emison

In the amazing array of human beings that have walked this world through history, one brings us together at this time of her passing because of the startling impact she has had on our lives.

We honor Josie Emison, and dedicate our thoughts and our prayers to her with love and laughter as befitting who she was: Unique and unquenchable spirit, unfaltering mother, big hearted blessing to her extended family, giving friend, sharp tongued Caribbean woman, mischievious prankster (as you would know if you ever fell down near her), world adventurer, fearer of cows and cats, FETESTER, lover of Carnival, calypso, dance and everything Trinidad, whose veins nonetheless ran with the red white and blue of her beloved adopted country.

No one who knew Josie Emison was left untouched (or unscorched) by her undeniable life energy. From the quaint hills of old time Arima this eternally girlish spirit emerged to fearlessly claim a place in some of the greatest cities on this planet; New York, Bogota and Miami. She was entrepreneur, legal secretary, manager, executive, and always fiercely protective mother who singlehandedly prepared two boys to be men.

She lived and loved life unapologetically to the fullest. In the face of daunting challenges and lonely struggles, she remained unconquered. She fought for life to the very end. God has now called her on to other missions (let us pray she takes it easy on Him). We are thankful for the time we had with her. We celebrate her tremendous life. She will never leave our hearts.
