November 26th, 1983 - April 11th, 2022
Dear friends and family -
It is with a heavy heart that we share sad news with you about Charlie Parce. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday April 11, 2022.
Many of the stories we've learned over the last week of what a great person Charlie was are helping family and friends to manage through this tragedy. This website is for everyone to please share photos, stories, any notes you have of your time with Charlie. You can do so below where the comment and photos sections are.
Please save the date of April 30th for a celebration of life in Palo Alto.
Charlie will be remembered as a wonderful son, friend to many, hard working colleague and kind person. He was selfless and always cared deeply about those around him. He had recently moved to Austin, Texas where he was putting down roots. He enjoyed going to concerts, spending time with friends and family, walking the dogs, and making music.
We ask that you be respectful to Nancy, Wally and Laura during this time and give them the space and time to heal.

WE knew you as a wee one and know you grew up to be a wonderful young man. You will be missed by all, but held in heart and memory by everyone. Our caring thoughts go out to friends and family. Rest in Peace.

I’m thinking of you today, Charlie. I wish I could be there to celebrate you with all of your friends and family. It’s going to be a packed house I’m sure , since you were such a great person and friend. I’ll never forget all the fun memories from Davis and Palo Alto. Thanks for always being so kind.

The Parces and Owickis went camping in Big Basin State Park in 1991. Here's Charlie feeding a deer. Sigh.

I always thought Charlie was cool in college but it wasn’t until years later I realized what an incredible human being he was. When I was at a crossroads in my life he was the most supportive friend and one of the reasons I became a nurse, a decision that changed my life. Kid, I’m in shock that you are no longer walking this earth with us. Thank you for being a spark in so many lives. May your light shine with the night stars.
Lisa
I remember Charlie as a kind and gentle soul. He will be missed.
Jack Owicki

The Owickis have many happy memories of expeditions with the Parces when all our kids were little. Here's a photo featuring Charlie from our trip to Disneyland in 1990.
