JO Anne Moore

Jo Anne Moore,

 

86, of Hemet, Ca passed away on Friday, October 20 at Buena Vista Assisted Living in Hemet, Ca.

 

Jo Anne was born on November 9, 1936, in Long Beach, CA to Harry and Lillian Reese. When Jo Anne was in 7th grade they moved to San Jacinto, CA. It was at San Jacinto High School she met and later married Edwin Moore. 

 

Ed and Jo Anne had six children…James, Marie, Kenneth, Joanne, and Julie, and Gerald which kept Jo Anne remarkably busy. Jo could always be counted on to help as a room mother in their classrooms, as a Girl Scout leader, and was at every athletic event for her kids. Jo was an accomplished seamstress and made many of the clothes for her girls as they were growing up. Her strong work ethic and organizational skills allowed her to efficiently run the busy household and also have time to “mother” many of the neighborhood kids and her children’s friends.

 

After Jo's children were grown, she went to work at Sherwood’s Department Store in San Jacinto for Bart Sherwood. She would later work for Bart at Grace’s Ladies Apparel and as a florist for the Arrangement Gallery in Hemet.

 

Jo Anne enjoyed working in the yard, reading, playing her organ, working puzzles and needlework. Her family all played roles in her social life. She was always eager and ready to travel and enjoyed many trips with her daughters, Marie and Julie.  Jo Anne's daughter, Marie who lived next door and Jo enjoyed many hours eating BBQ and swimming at the home of her daughter, along with Marie's kids and grandkids. Julie and Paul often took Jo to dinner with them, much to her delight. James and Kenneth's family kept her busy with attendance at their granddaughter’s sporting events and every Friday night during football season she was at the Beaumont High School football games where her son, Gerlad was the Head Football Coach.

 

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lillian Reese, her husband, Edwin Moore,  Daughter Joanne and her son James Moore

Jo Anne is survived by her four children; Marie, Kenneth, Julie and Gerald. She is also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
