I still think of Ben all the time: every time I listen to metal, I think about how excited he was that there were several metal heads in the office; every time I read NK Jemenson since he recommended it to me and she is now one of my favorite authors; and just randomly. He left his mark wherever he went and everyday I am so lucky to have met him.

I only found out today that Ben was gone. It was a shock to hear and having had some time to reflect on it it still does not seem real. I've known him since I first opened the shop in 99 and he was a larger than life kid. As the years went on he grew into a larger than life man. One I was always proud to call a friend. I will always miss him and his hugs. He was one of a kind and I will miss him forever. I only wish I could have reached out and helped when he needed it. The world seems a little less full to me tonight, goodbye my friend. Love ya bro

I was reminiscing today with some co-workers about how fun office holiday parties used to be. Every year at the office holiday party, we would have a white elephant gift exchange. Most people wanted to win a bottle of wine or some bath bombs. One year, Ben won a box of hand warmers. These were not a desirable gift, but Ben kept them to give out to our homeless clients. Miss ya Ben. Good memories bring a smile to my face.
