ARCHIE ARCINUE PINA

20 de diciembre de 1978 - 30 de diciembre de 2024
May I bring about a better person in everyone I meet, and may I in turn gain strength from each person. ~ Archie
Archie Arcinue Pina, born on December 20, 1978, spent his last days in his home at Hawaiian Paradise Park on the Island of Hawaii before passing away at the Hilo Benioff Medical Center on December 30, 2024. His heart gave way to the fullness of love and inspiration he had for life. He was lifted up to the stars, seeing the beauty of life and a brighter future as he always did.
Archie was laid to rest in Tucson, Arizona, where he was raised then entered into active duty with the US Navy in 2008. A private service was held by the Pina Family and Archie was laid to rest at Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Marana, Arizona.
There are too many stories about how awesome Archie was for one person to write.
Please share yours as a tribute below.

ARCHIE’S AWESOME LIFE
After serving in the Navy, Archie remained in Hawaii and transitioned back into civilian life. He grew an ohana (family) with whom he shared a deep love, epic creative collaborations and magical memories.
Archie was forever a student of life, a creative visionary, a humble seeker of wisdom and a connoisseur of life’s precious moments. He was gifted with the heart of a warrior, a brilliant mind and the innocent soul of a child with the true spirit of Aloha always guiding him.
Archie always saw life as one big awesome adventure. Everytime he was dealt the worst hand, somehow he would turn it to the greatest opportunity.
After graduating from Hawaii Healing Arts College, life was challenging him to grow. After collapsing under the pressures, he picked himself back up and set sail for the mainland with a new vision for his life.
The destination, the Golden Gate Bridge. For Archie, this structure was a symbol of vision and victory.
While attending the Academy of Art and San Francisco Film School, he developed his passion for photography. He had dreams of starting an awesome media company that would employ and empower people all around the world. The name of his company: AWE Ventures (AWE = Archway Enterprises).
At the end of 2019, Archie suffered from a stroke while living in Sausalito. Again, instead of succumbing to the challenges of rehabilitation, it made his spirit even stronger and he recovered like a champion.
Archie was always up for going on an awesome road trip. After the stroke he began to foster the dream of building out a Ram Promaster into an RV to experience van life on the mainland. He wanted to be a free spirit going on epic nature adventures and capturing the awesomeness of places and people that you come across while being in the flow of life.
---
In 2021, Archie miraculously survived a second stroke while living in Sausalito. This made his life take a detour. The Island was calling him back.
After living in various places around the world, Archie said that the first time he ever stepped foot on Hawaiian soil, he felt like he was finally home. He had his heart set on living on Big Island to be in close connection to the aina (land) and to capture the majestic essence of Mauna Kea.
After years and years of patience and determination, Archie won a huge legal battle and came into a substantial windfall that made him eligible for the Veteran Affairs Home Loan Program.
On January 27, 2022 Archie purchased a 1-acre property in Hawaiian Paradise Park. The longtime dream of owning a home in Hawaii came true.
He celebrated by buying a brand new Toyota Tacoma truck, which he used to make frequent visits to Mauna Kea and other island adventures. He became an Airbnb Superhost and hosted numerous people from around the world in his home, sharing his piece of paradise with true Aloha spirit.
---
The strength of Archie’s faith in himself and something greater was tested numerous times throughout his life. He endured countless periods of struggle, debilitating losses, even near death experiences, but every time he turned every trial into a triumph, finding resolve for each conflict with grace and Ho'oponpono (forgiveness).
Archie had an enigmatic way of turning every predicament into an opportunity to learn and progress. When many doubted and questioned his ways, he proved over and over again that persistence, patience, staying true to yourself and having a positive outlook on life would always pay off.
Even after going from homelessness to homeownership and surviving two strokes, Archie still wanted to strive for more. During the last fews months before his passing, Archie wanted to make his way back to Honolulu, camera in hand, the inspiration of starting a Real Estate Photography company in his heart, and a “YOU ARE AWESOME” cap on his head. He was ready to start from the ground up all over again.
At the end of 2024, Archie traded the comforts of home for car camping at Waimanalo Beach in order to rebuild on Oahu. Only to come back home for the holidays, just days before he was going to head back to Honolulu, Archie was taken to the hospital and passed away with his heart too full of inspiration for his body to handle.

If you were ever in Archie’s orbit, whether it be for just a few moments or many times over the years, you’ve been blessed with a spark of bright light that shines from a very special soul. He was quirky, lovable and had a brilliant blend of nerdy charm and witty wisdom that left an indelible mark on everyone who was blessed to connect with him.
He crossed over the rainbow bridge with dignity, honor and grace.
No matter where he is now, Archie will always be gently reminding you that YOU ARE AWESOME.
REST IS PARADISE, ARCHIE.
WE LOVE YOU.
ALOHA.

Archie wants to succeed in real estate photography and has the equipment and motivation. His goal is to adopt and develop local youth to give them the means to thrive. He lives the American dream. Bellows beach on Oahu is his special place.

I just want to share some memories with Archie. I’ve been in Hawaii in november 2024. Archie was my host for few days. During these few days, we share a lot of moments for my trip. He was my guide. We’ve made a homemade chocolat from the bean, together for the first Time. We had so much fun. Stargazing on Maina loa together. Visiting beaches, and more. I’ll cherish these moments. Thank you for your hospitality, kindness, générosity, for everything. My trip couldn’t be better. Rest in Paradise 🌈
