My father is like no one else, He has always believed in me, protected me, strengthened me, and I know without a doubt that he loves me unconditionally.
My father, William Daddio Jr, was an amazing man. He adopted Drew and I and never looked back. We were his life. He would do anything for his children. My Dad has been my best friend my whole life. We spoke a few times a week no matter what. He supported me and loved me when i didn't love myself. My father gave us the tools we needed to succeed in life. We had everything we wanted, my Dad provided everything for us. We loved going to Yankee games and he even liked going shopping with me. I could talk to him about anything. I still feel like I can call him and he will answer. Covid is the reason why I have gone the longest in my life without seeing my Dad, who knew it would turn into forever. I had just spoken to him, he sang happy birthday to me on 11/19. Covid is an aweful disease I would never wish anyone to go through what he went through, and what we are going through. I did not get to say goodbye. No one was able to visit. The news stories are so true, some of these doctors and nurses are the last people to see our loved ones. It's unreal. Sometimes I hope I am gona wake up from this nightmare, but I never will. The pandemic has created so many issues for loved ones to see family, support each other, and properly say good bye. My dad has already been cremated bc of worries regarding Covid. It all happened so fast. I hate to think he was all alone. This whole thing is killing me. But I know I told my Dad I love him every single time we spoke. He was so proud of me, I just got a job promotion and moved into a new place. Of course, my Dad supported me thru it all. I love and miss him so much. His wife, Doris, who he loved so much, also tested positive Covid. Fortunately, she is not feeling as bad and is currently awaiting test results. She has been alone in quarantine since this whole thing started. She has been alone without a hug or support from anyone. It should not be like this. We should be able to see our family, but right now we have to be safe. My father loved "his girls" more than anything. It grew to include my dog Diamond as well. She loved him so much too. He worried about us girls all the time. He was the absolute BEST FATHER a girl could ask for. And I know Doris would agree he was an amazing husband. Please, please take this seriously. My Dad and Doris were so careful all the time. They had to go to 1 very important meeting with an attorney and another person, who they did not know was positive at the time. And just like that, it can change. 9 days from positive test results to when he passed. This disease/virus is unforgiving. His kidneys shut down, he did not get the chance to try dialysis, his heart could not take it. Please take caution, it only takes a second to get exposed. If nothing else comes from this, please wear a mask and social distance, it is so important.
