Vicki "Suz" Lynn Riske

Vicki Riske aka “Suz”, 67, passed away surrounded by love on 12/03/2025, leaving behind a warmth and light that will never fade from the hearts of those who knew her. Beautiful both inside and out, Vicki lived her life with an openness that welcomed people in and made them feel truly seen.

Born with a gift for connection, Vicki’s conversations were legendary—hours-long talks filled with laughter, honesty, and genuine care. She never rushed a moment with someone she loved. Whether you’d known her for a lifetime or had just met her, she had a way of making you feel like the most important person in the room.

A retired special education teacher, Vicki poured her heart into every child who crossed her classroom door. Her patience, compassion, and belief in the potential of every student left a lasting imprint on countless lives. Teaching wasn’t simply her career—it was her calling, and she fulfilled it with grace and kindness.

Music was one of Vicki’s greatest joys, especially the crackling soul of old country classics. If George Jones was playing, you could count on Suz to be humming along, smiling that unmistakable smile that lit up any space she entered.

Vicki was, to so many, a steady shine—someone whose presence softened the hard days and brightened the good ones. She carried light within her, and she shared it freely.

She is survived by Wayne her husband and Jenna her daughter along with countless friends, former students, and loved ones whose lives were made better simply by knowing her.

A celebration of Vicki’s life will be held on an undetermined date in the spring at Grenora, ND where stories, music, and shared memories will honor the extraordinary heart of the woman we lovingly called Suz.

Her light lives on in every life she touched.
