Van Pieter Wyckoff

9 de junio de 1950 - 22 de julio de 2022
In my life, I love you more
Van Pieter Wyckoff, born June 9, 1950 in Quantico, Virginia to parents Don P. Wyckoff and Dorothy (Norwood) Wyckoff, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022. Van was a devoted husband to his wife Nancy of 51 years, a beloved father to Kristin Wyckoff and the late Van Kory Wyckoff and a loving grandfather (Vanpa) to Cora and Van (Dash) Goodier. He is survived by his older brothers Claesen Dirk and Rickard Jan (Ric), son-in-law David Goodier, sisters-in-law Sandy and Cheryl and his nephews and nieces.
A skilled musician, Van retired from a remarkable career in the record industry after which he filled his days working part time, playing basketball, jogging and taking daily walks with his adored dogs. An avid athlete, he struggled with his decreasing mobility and chronic pain in recent years. A natural comedian, he used his sharp sense of humor to navigate his world and connect with people. Never at a loss for words, Van will be remembered for his warm smile, quick wit, a good book, a crossword puzzle challenge and his love for his family and Crofton, Maryland neighbors and friends. A celebration of Van’s life will be announced at a later date.

Van, So sorry our paths never crossed again when you departed the Bayside family in the late 90s. We only worked with you a short time, but it seemed longer due to the joy of knowing you. RIP buddy.

I just found out about Van's passing. I worked for years with Van when I was Elektra Records regional and Washington DC was my stop. Spent so many meals and time with Van and he was always fun and caring. My heartfelt condolences to the family.

I met Van in the Eighties when my son Peter and his son Cory wrestled together. My other son Michael and Kristin actually worked together at the Video store also. Van and I went to a great Los Lobos concert at the Warner theatre in 1985 as well. I will not forget spending time with Van during the period that Cory died. He was such a loving father. Since I moved to Florida, I would return to Crofton every year for a few weeks, and always stopped to shoot the bull with Van when I saw him walking his dogs. I will miss not seeing him. Please accept my sincerest condolences, Nancy , God bless you.
