Tracy Lynn Geiger
6 de marzo de 1962 - 19 de diciembre de 2020
6 de marzo de 1962 - 19 de diciembre de 2020
Where we go I do not know, except into the hearts of those who loved us.
It is with sadness we report the passing of Tracy Lynn Geiger early Saturday, December 19th after a protracted struggle with colon cancer.
Her sister, Kelly Geiger of Pensacola, Florida, and significant other, Bob Hazy, were at her side at his home in El Dorado Hills, California. She was also survived by her sister Kim Geiger Mansfield of Kalamazoo, Michigan, her father Edward Geiger and his wife Ruth Cote Geiger, of Hixson, Tennessee, as well as her nephew Mitchell Mansfield and niece Annemarie Mansfield, both of Kalamazoo, her cousin Jeffrey Ott of Aurora, Illinois, and her dog Louie (the true love of her life). She was preceded in death by her mother Arlene Naughton Geiger.
A secular and virtual memorial service is being planned for late January 23, 2021 at 11AM PT and further details will be announced. There will be a companion website including pictures and an album where you can sign and relate stories of her shared life with you. Her ashes will be spread in various meaningful sites around the world.
Born in Chicago March of 1962, Tracy grew up across the Midwest including Ohio and suburban Detroit before attending the University of Michigan. After finishing school, she moved to southern California where she joined Deluxe Corporation where she worked as a senior manager for about 20 years in various locales. After Deluxe she spent six years with LifeMasters as a senior manager before embarking on a consulting career, cut short in 2012 by her diagnosis.
Those are the details, but they don’t begin to capture the life that was Tracy. She emanated joy and optimism in a manner which was magnetic and uplifting to those around her. Throughout her illness, she maintained a proactive and hopeful outlook, never allowing the illness to define her. She lived in spite of cancer, living well beyond projections by living well. She was generous, kind, thoughtful and selfless, a devoted aunt to Mitch and Annie, and a supportive sister. She was the first to reach out to friends, to offer solace and succor, even when they sought to give it to her. It was remarkable to witness, and we were honored to do it.
Tracy loved to walk and hike and enjoy the solitude of nature. She read ardently and loved to discuss all things human nature. She was clear-eyed but not judgmental, measured but inwardly passionate. She had many friends (as evidenced by the limitless pile of cards she received), but was especially close with Sandra Allen, Sherril Clark, and Sally Green, all of whom loved her and received at least as much love in return.
Donations in her name should be directed to FightColorectal Cancer.ORG (https://fightcolorectalcancer.org/).

4/10/2021:. Tracy @ Arches I've known for a while it's be distributing Tracy's cremains at various points asking my journey, but that didn't make it any easier when it was time. I found myself at the base if Double Arch with the small canister in my hand. It was harder than the first time at Jenkinson lake. This felt more official. More final. I'm sure those around me wondered what I was doing waking up to the small tree unlikely growing by a boulder. I thought the ashes would blend in, but they didn't: they were granular and white against the pale pink powder marking this monument. They looked so bare, even under the tree, I put a little rock over their middle to protect them. Now I just have to reconceive of everything in my life without her in it. I guess that's what loss is: an unfillable gap one learns to accept over time. 3/6/2021: Tracy @ Jenkinson Lake The boys and I drive up the hill to visit Tracy's favorite hiking spot, Jenkinson Lake, on her first birthday since her passing. We took care to place her ashes in shady spots, because Tracy

I worked for Deluxe check printers in Phoenix from December of 1996 to August of 2011. I was very fortunate to meet Tracy and always a pleasure to talk with her. She always made me feel welcomed and I will miss the kind spirit she had. May she Rest In Peace and such a beautiful soul never forgotten. May gods bless her and the entire family. Hugs until we meet again. Love always. Anna Olea

I got to know Tracy at Deluxe in San Diego. She and a group of us girls did some very fun things together. We went on a wine country tour, flew to Catalina Island (thank you Jerry Gleiforst) and attended a jazz weekend there. She was sweet and fun. May she rest in peace!!

I would like to say what a sweet, caring and wonderful person Tracy was. She was a selfless and kind person, looked for the good in all people. I had the pleasure of meeting Tracy through my dad and soon she became family. Tracy became an adopted mother to my fur baby, Mavi, in a time of need. She opened up her home to Maverick and I will forever be grateful. Rest In Peace Tracy, we miss you . -Meghan Holter❤️

I worked for Tracy at Deluxe in San Diego from 1993 to 1995, we friends, and she always took time to stop and talk.
