Those we love don't go away, they sit beside us everyday.
Thomas “Tom” Earl Spear Sr., 66, of Marshfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully early in the morning on Friday, July 23rd, 2021.
Tom was born on September 4th, 1954 during Hurricane Hazel on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, which may be where his wild personality began. He was raised in Hanover, MA with his three siblings and two loving parents. As a child, he always looked forward to springtime, which others may know as spring fever. Although he loved playing hooky as a student, he was always a very determined young adult, which led to the success of his future career.
Tom was known for his hard work ethic, including the creation of his own construction company, Tom-Kat Inc. He has spent most of his life on jobsites, which is where he prefers to be. Even when he was sick, he was still showing up for estimates and working from home to make sure everything was done to perfection. He lived by the phrase, “If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life”.
When he wasn’t on a rooftop or ladder, he loved to ride his motorcycle, garden, and appreciated his numerous vacations. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, laughing and eating good food. His kind heart and sense of humor was deeply instilled in his three children and has served all who met him well. He will be remembered for his positive attitude and personality that was projected so brightly.
Tom spent the last 15 years loving his life on the farm, and it became his eternal happy place. He enjoyed his farm life living and making fond memories with his partner, Terri. His other passion was exploring on his motorcycle with his extended family in Arizona. You also could find him at the local yard sale or antique shop scoping out a “good find”.
Tom is survived by his son Thomas Spear Jr. and wife Noelle Spear, daughter Melia Spear, daughter Sarah Spear, partner Terri Ray, sister Kathy Spear and life partner Hortencia Muniz, brother James Spear, brother-in-law Michael Palmer, former wife Kathy Harriman-Spear, loving grandchildren Jacob, Lily, and Grace, and his golden retriever Ted. Tom was a loving partner, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He was preceded in his death by his father, Edgar, mother, Ruth, and brother Peter. He left an imprint on anyone he met, often with a laugh or joke.
During this battle with cancer, Tom couldn’t speak highly enough of the staff that he would encounter each visit. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Thomas Spear to support cancer research and patient care at:

Anyone who knew Tom would know he would want us to celebrate all of the good memories we shared, as he was always the life of the party. We are going to continue the tradition of the cock-raising chicken barbeque in remembrance of him. A celebration of life will be held on August 7th, 2021 at the farm, 281 Moraine Street, Marshfield MA, beginning at 12:00, followed by the famous barbeque and potluck at 1:30.

Many fond memories of Tom and his family. Always a wonderful time at his Dad, Red's "Cock raising party, where Tom and his brother Jim manned the massive chicken grill. My sincere condolences to all, such a terrible loss. Godspeed Tom. R.i.P.

We did not get to see Tommy often, but when we did he was always smiling, joking, & laughing. He knew how to have a good time! We will miss that smiling face and jokester personality.
