Theresa (Terry) Slayton

Theresa (Terry) Maria Slayton, a beloved resident of New York City and Texas, passed away Tuesday September 19, 2023, at the age of 82. She spent the majority of her years in New York City but was living in the Houston Texas area the day she passed away. Terry’s departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her, but her memory will forever remain a source of inspiration and comfort.

Terry was a loving, kind, generous and strong woman, who embraced life vigorously and vivaciously.

Terry accomplished many goals in her full life, including having earned 2 Master's Degrees, becoming a Published Author, raising two children, and changing careers three times.  Her most cherished joys included, her 2 children, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, reading, writing, socializing, and traveling.

In her early years in New York City, Terry thrived in Parochial school, made lifelong friends and contributed positively to the energy of the city.   Terry was a dancer during her young adult life and truly enjoyed the power of self-expression through dance.  Her love of music was tremendous.  Music permeated every facet of Terry’s life.

During Terry’s later years she was writing another book, continued to be an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Terry will be fondly remembered by all who liked and loved her.
