6 de septiembre de 1968 - 26 de enero de 2021
Our lives were forever changed when Terry Terrell entered this world on September 6, 1968. He was a premature baby weighing 4 pounds and 10 ounces. His mother's prayers were anwered when he came home after being in Bay Medical Center for 15 days. He was welcomed by his father, mother, brother and four sisters. Our baby was finally home.
Terry was a member of Second Mount Moriah Baptist Church. After attending Bay District Schools, Terry graduated from Rutherford High School in 1986. He also attended Gulf Coast Junior College. During this time, Terry never met a stranger and was always joking and smiling. He loved his dogs, Hambond, Rocky, and Chopper. He loved singing. Michael Jackson was his favorite singer. He loved to dance and liked being in the family talent shows during Thangsgiving and Christmas. He loved to collect comic books and all types of cards. He truly looked forward to the Carlisle Family Runion and only missed two since 1985. He worked at Shaw Adult Center. A.D. Harris, Office Depot and was presently working for an air conditioning company when he became ill. He lived in various places and finally made his residence in Marietta, Georgia.
Terry was always thinking of others until the day he had an aneurysm. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Gerturde Diggs Carlisle. Left to celebrate his life: his brother Grady Carlisle; sisters, Minnie Carlisle Heir, Mary Nell Brown, Anity Dillard (Victor), Inga Reede, Millie Carlisle, and Lavada Cook (Jerry); nephews, Keith Brown, Grady Williamson, Zanda Watson, Soney Reede, Terry Reede, Cameron Pitts, and Grady Carlisle, Jr.; nieces, April Carlisle, Tameika Carlsle, Tamesha Aldridge, Donielle Blount, Jerica Cook, Priscilla Braggs, and Chimere Pitts; a host of great-nephews and nieces; cousins, Vincent Carlisle, Aletha Carlisle, Vicki Carlisle, Tamiko Godwin, and Malik Mitchell; plus a host of loving cosins; god mother, Weedie Watson; best friend, Anthony Dixon; childhood friend, Niecey Turner; friend, Sean Harris; special sister, Eloise Carlisle; the Class of 1986; the Detroit Avenue Bay Harbor Family; and many friends who will miss his laughing, joking and contagious smile.

Terry and I worked together when I was 19 and just starting out in life. He always encouraged me in pursuing my love of music and though we hadn't spoken in a while, I think of him regularly as an example of an incredibly kind and encouraging person. He truly lit up the room. We often chatted about music and comic books and I was always glad to get a chance to brighten my work day hanging out with him. I'm truly so sad to hear of his passing but if my experience is like others, his impact through kindness and sincerity will continue to be felt through others.

Terry T. Carlisle - Sunrise = September 6, 1968 – Sunset = January 26, 2021 In 1977 at Springfield Elementary, I met a friend who became a brother for a lifetime. This bond spanned 43 years. 105 Detroit became my 2nd home. Thru my friendship with Terry T. Carlisle, I gained an additional family (Ann, Shelly, Bubba, Vada, Millie, Woody, Zikey and T.C). Mr. Gladys and Ms. Gertrude became my 2nd set of parents and protectors. Terry loved music, dancing, and his dogs; Hambone, Chopper and a few other fur baby’s whose name I can’t recall. He brings to mind childhood memories of endless board games in the summer, street ball until the street lights came on, roller skating on the weekends, bike rides, and pickle paper (don’t ask ). I remember him winning dance competitions, attending Gulf Coast College and working many years as a manager with Office Depot. He had a penchant for super hero comic books and his collection contained copies of comics decades older than him. We traveled together, and leaned on each other from childhood to young men finding our footing as adults in Atlanta. He was always a fun-life of the party guy. He lived a full life, enjoyed life and always celebrated the life and joy of others as much as his own. I will miss him greatly.
