Shichao Ding

Shocked to have heard Scott's pass away. I met him in 1999/2000 while he was a researcher in Wollongong/BHP. We have kept in contact since then- I remember that we visited each other (and family as well) when I was in Hamilton New Zealand (2001-2007). I have met his wife Yuge and two lovely daughters Lele and Jiajia. I stayed in Scott's place in Auckland around the end of October/beginning November 2001. He visited me and my family a couple of times 2002/03 and I remember he was in my lounge and we played jokes. When I returned to Australia from New Zealand- we met initially in Brisbane during the Intecol Conference (held at Brisbane Convention Centre). We spent about week's time together to Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast (inc Noosa). I met my relatives (from Taiwan) during the visit of Gold Coast Casino. Also we had lunch on Uni Queensland Campus, met Shirley Xun Wang first time as well. The following time I saw Scott was at his home in Kogarah - he was laying house floor and we went event bought a lotto- not sure it was a Cup Day one? Scott helped me a lot and we did sightseeing in Waikato - Auckland, Wollongong, Brisbane and SE Queensland. He took a lot of photos for me and of me- unfortunately I could not find even one picture with him. Scott will be always in my mind- as a friend, mentor, a professional with full of humours....
