Sandy Marie Scharninghausen

Sandy Marie Scharninghausen - loving sister - passed away on October 19, 2022 at the age of 65 in West Allis, Wisconsin. Sandy was born to Walter R. and Marie T. Scharninghausen in “the Riverwest Neighborhood” of Milwaukee Wisconsin.  She was baptized and attended St. Casimir’s grade school on Bremen and Clarke Sts. She graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 1974.

Sandy found her best self when she could help others. Shortly after graduating Sandy worked as a nursing assistant. Through the years, Sandy enjoyed painting and all forms of art. She loved to shop the thrift stores and find “good” deals. She was precocious and full of humor if the occasion warranted it. She had a strong faith in Christ. Sandy cared deeply for her family and will be dearly missed.

Sandy was preceded in death by her loving parents Walter and Marie, and her loving grandmothers Genevieve Check and Irma Scharninghausen, as well as her Godmother Mary Scharninghausen. She is survived by her sister Theresa A. Kenney (John), brothers Timothy and Kim Scharninghausen and two nephews Paul and Christopher Beck as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

The family will hold a private burial serrvice. In her memory, the family would appreciate donations to support the National Alliance on Mental Illness (which has a dollar for dollar match up to $100,000 dollars) NAMI.org and/or Catholic Charities www.ccmke.org
