Robert was a dear friend to me at University. A fellow fan of fine music, we often went to concerts and operas together. I always remember him fondly and was very sad to have lost touch with him. I am even sadder to hear that he is now gone. My condolences to Jonathan and Robert’s family.

I've been thinking a lot about Robert and still how shocking it is that he is no longer in this world. A memory from the last day of high school does make me smile though. Robert was always a rule follower but he was quite mischievous on the last day. One of our classmates was very particular about her appearance and she would get up every morning very early and spend ages on her hair. Robert pushed her into the swimming pool! Amazingly she managed to land on her feet and her hair didn't get wet!

I have such lovely memories of my time in the UK, many of which are thanks to Rob. He was a wonderful colleague, friend, and person. I was thrilled to reconnect with him not too long back through work, and even after so many years, it felt just lovely to speak with him, as it always did. I will miss you, dear Rob. Thank you for being you. xx

Wow. I just found out about this. I worked with Rob from 2005 to 2007 at Mercer. I was always a fan of both his brain and his strange sense of humor. Further, he was very accepting of the bluntness and roughness of my straight out of university style. So sorry for his partner and family.

Robert always brought a smile to one's face with his good nature. He was lovely through and through and we will and do miss him. My thoughts are with Jonathan and his family.

My transatlantic work brother for over 10 years, You led me and others on many projects. You shared your foresight with confidence and candor. Thank-you. We did stop correcting each other’s English usage and grammar, and then we laughed about it. We did trade ancient stories dug up from the internet about companies that have since disappeared. We did meet in person, but too rarely! Sail on ahead, brother Robert.
