A Guide To This Site:

This site has been set up by Peter's daughters as a permanent memorial for their father. We were unable to hold a memorial for dad in person due to COVID-19 restrictions and wanted to honour and commemorate his life in a way that everyone could access at any time.

Page navigation is via the links under Peter Scofield's name at the top of the page. Basic information is in the Profile, however the commemorative content can be found under Mementos (NOTE: Click on the Mementos link at the TOP of the page to see an overview of all Mementos content, otherwise you can click on the first video in the section to the right of the biography). Here you will find tribute videos created by Peter's former wife Shelley, and his 2 daughters Chayene and Jordan. You will also find photos of Peter's life in chronologial order (or thereabouts). Additionally, you will find links to some songs that Peter liked and / or reminded his family of him.

If you start by opening the first video, you can then use the cursers to 'click right' and view the full memorial in its intended order (tribute videos - photos - songs). It is likely to take around 20 minutes to view the full memorial, followed by around an hour of music if you'd like to have a listen.

Visitors to the page are able to post Tributes including photographs and comments via the Profile page, and also comment on and react to the Mementos.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to view Peter's memorial site and to commemorate and remember his life. Please feel free to pass on the link to anybody you think might like to view it.

Love,

Jordan & Chayene

Thank you for sharing your memories and photos of Peter in this way. We were neighbours for many years on South Avenue and I also used to help him with his book work so we would catch up on a regular basis and have a chat. Condolences to you all.

“You know me, but you don’t really know me” these words seem the perfect epitaph for Pete. My first memory of Peter was a family get-together at Auntie Brenda’s home shortly after he arrived in Australia with Shelly. I remember a tall, good-looking young man with a long dark blonde Indian plait who was frightfully quiet. Pete told me some years later ‘he did not believe in talking unless he had something to say’. Pete was a an exceptional tiler, he played ‘American’ baseball with gusto, he imported an authentic Indisn teepee to which he tethered a camel! but, always a loner. Pete’s greatest achievement was undoubtably his two beautiful daughters of whom he was so very proud. Pete you were indeed an enigma, a man who ‘danced to the beat of your own drum’ maybe not always understood but loved by all of us. ‘see you when the mud dries’ RIP
