My whole family is incredibly saddened by this news. We have a small, family-owned Puerto Rican restaurant in Boston, where Orlando so often frequented. I can relate to all who have commented. He would also come in, spend hrs at a time hanging out with us, making everyone laugh. He would sing salsa and often opera (sooo loud lol) with his amazing voice. We often had deep conversations, also. What a great man. There are 3 things I'd like to share. 1.) I echo that it was no secret he loved his kids, grandkids, and 2 dogs. He'd so often wip out his phone to share the latest pics of you guys and after ea one he'd say "I love him/her". He spoke so highly of ea of you. I remember seeing the main pic of him featured on this page, as he scrolled through his pics of that event a few yrs ago. He'd show us you guys and somehow always ended w pics of his 2 dogs! 2.) His testimony of how God gifted him that amazing voice as a child. Although I am so sad abt his passing, as a Christian, I am comforted knowing he had a personal relationship w God. I look forward to seeing him again in glory! 3.) He was so kind. He worked on our stairs, my husband helped him, he actually ended up being such great company and taught my husband a lot, even gave him an "extra" miter saw he had. My deepest condolences to his family and the many friends who loved him dearly. Rarely do we get so close to customers. He was special and a great friend to my family. We saw him interact w many people from all walks of life, he treated everyone w the same kindness and respect. He was also professional and loved his job, which he did so well. We will miss Orlando and will cherish him and our friendship forever.

I thank God for having met you and having shared 16 years of our lives together. For loving my children as if they were yours, for being present in the lives of my granddaughters, your invitation to Tenn was pending. For all those who knew you, you left an irreplaceable void, you were a human being who gave everything without expecting anything in return. A contagious laugh and a voice I enjoyed every time you sang to me. You know that we were always there for each other, although our paths took different directions, you never stopped watching over me. Rest in Peace, until we meet again.

There's so many memories, I don't know where to start. Orlando came into my life when I was just 15. Orlando was present for very big moments in my life. My first actual boyfriend, the welcoming of my 3 daughters, their school concerts, activities, graduations, award ceremony, the list is endless. One thing about Orlando he never let any negativity stop him from laughing. His smile was one of a kind, contagious. Our trips to the gym together, we would get in his truck and sing to Gilberto Santa Rosa. The way he sung was just admirable. He was filled with so much positive energy. The atmosphere was different filled with laughter, and love. One thing he would always mention, was how much he loved his children, grandkids and how proud he was of each one of them. It hurts my soul having to write this remembrance of such an amazing man! There will never be enough words in the dictionary to describe who/how Orlando was. I still sit in disbelief. I love you so much Orlando. Thank you for the past 16 yrs. I promise I won't go on a tredmil with my coat on again! 😢. I miss you so much!

Orlando Avila LO ÚNICO QUE NOS LLEVAREMOS DE ESTA VIDA, ES LA CANTIDAD DE AMOR Y ALEGRÍA QUE FUIMOS CAPACES DE DAR. ¡Te voy a extrañar mucho! Tú hermanita Annie.

I met Orlando 10 years ago in Framingham where he used to live..We were on a date'lol..A romance never worked, but as good friends it surely did! We had lunch together and I remember what we ate! One of his favorite's food!Chuletas',tostones rice and beans! Ohhh!Yes!Avocados on the side! Then he moved to Worcester where I reside..he says to me ' hey neighbor! I live close to you now!lol. Wow Orlando! Awesome! So he visited me anytime he had a chance..and gave me the best big tight hugs!He was the most respectful man I ever met and always a joker! Always asked him..Orlandito..'which I always would call him'..When are you getting married?and let a nice lady take care of your?..his answer would be..Noo..'I'm good and happy the way I am..' I'm married to my job,lol..and I have my girls. He was referring to his little doggies that he loved with all his heart.I will always miss you Orlando..my dear friend.Lourdes💗😢

I am the assistant manager where Orlando lived in Tennessee and every one of us that work here absolutely love Orlando. He always came in the office and talked to all of us and hung out for a little bit. He always had us all laughing and smiling. We will miss him so much. Our condolences to all of his family & friends.
