I will always remember the finest son-in-law and the finest man one could ever wish for to be a husband to my daughter. Chris met Julie after her MS diagnosis and still stayed by her side - always. He was unique and loving and forgiving and a real Christian man. He was a very, quiet person and I feel I did not get to know him as well as I would have liked. Once when my computer crashed, Chris came over, took my hard drive, and returned with my passport drive loaded with my pictures that I thought I had lost forever. He was also the person who photographed my first graduation from college and I really appreciated that he did that for me. He was so special - I will deeply miss him.

I'll miss you, Chris. I wish we'd had more time to reconnect...and I always assumed there would be time. We moved away when I was still in middle school, but we had a few chances to run into each other at Dragon Con every now and again. I feel like I got a small glimpse into your world because of Facebook, and you always had a comment for my posts and Laura Angell's. You made life much better for my sister and I when we came to Dothan. Two strange, "city girl" comic fans feeling so out of place in a small Alabama military town! We found a kindred spirit in you (and a patient soul willing to put up with the two of us!) Thanks for always recapping the complicated storylines and endless crossovers going on in the Marvel Universe. My allowance would never have allowed me to buy all those issues! The Comic Book Club has lost it's one and only president. I'm glad you found your soul mate and happy to hear you remained the kind, caring man that I remember when he was young. Much love on your journey. -Victoria "Lightening Strike" Angell

Forgive my Facebook screen name, Chris would have called me Craig. I regret that we postponed reconnecting, as we had lost touch over the years, trading a few messages now and again. I find it amazing that Chris looks exactly like he always did. He seems unaffected my time. I wish he could have seen me, and the cruel joke time has played. Chris and I, zoomed all over the south back in the day, in his Mazda or my Jeep, we went to college together, even ate bad crawfish together. Again, he was less effected than I, he said I didn't drink enough to kill the germs. Lots of memories, old chum. I don't know how to express the, but to say, I am preparing for your memorial, and I have poured a White Russian in your name. To me you were the Dude, And the dude abides.
