Nancy H Nelson
Of Palmetto, entered into rest on June 18, 2021. Beloved wife of Richard M. Nelson; devoted mother of Leif (Liz), and Meghan Nelson; cherished grandmother of Juliette and Viggo Nelson; loving daughter of the late Raymond and Helen Harrington; dear sister of Janice and John. Relatives and friends may join services at First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton 1402 Manatee Ave W, Bradenton, FL 34205 at 11 o'clock June 24. Service may be broadcast on the interweb, links on this website or firstpresbradenton.com TBD. Reception will immediately follow at Grandma's favorite restaurant.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation. I met Nancy at Buffalo State college in the art education program. We became close friends and shared many events. We were in the same college sorority Alpha Tau Sigma. I shared a waterfront lunch with Nancy and Dick this past winter. I will truly miss her wonderful energy and spirit.

Nancy was a wonderful art teacher at Starpoint. She was also a very thoughtful friend.. I was hospitalized in 1993 and she arrived at my house with Presents from my colleagues and her smiling face. I also saw her at the Buffalo State gatherings in Florida a number of times … she was always up and friendly … great lady . May she Rest In Peace.

Nancy has been a cherished friend for more than 50 years. We loved spending time with Nancy and Dick, contributing an ornament help to decorate the family Christmas tree at a yearly holiday party in WNY, before our children were born, playing pinochle (wives vs husbands) to win the "grand championship of the pinochle universe" each year, sharing laughter, hugs, many stories and treasured friendship, especially over pizza, chicken fingers, beef-on-weck, and other treats at Casa Di Pizza. Nancy's friendship is a treasured memory we'll hold in our hearts forever.
