Souvenirs

Our beloved Michelle Angelica (Angel) Deason passed away on Saturday October 9, 2021, at the age of 30. A memorial service will be held at Highland Heights Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m. on October 23rd. We will be taking donations in her honor to the local chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness at the memorial. Flowers may be sent that day to Highland Heights Presbyterian Church at 2855 Morning Sun Rd Cordova, TN 38016.

Michelle is survived by her two children Addyson K. Presley, who is 7 years old and Maximus C. Deason at 6 months; paternal grandmother Revel Erin Foren; maternal grandmother June Thomas; grandfathers Max C. Deason, Sr. and Ray Thomas; stepmother Shelly Cates; step grandmother Rita Broadway; and her uncle Mark Deason and numerous cousins. Michelle has several family members that preceded her in death. Her father Max C. Deason, Jr.; her mother Vickie L. Thomas Deason; and her step-grandfather James Foren.

Michelle also left behind a large extended family. Her godparents Greg and Beth Gillaspie and godsisters and godbrother Jessa, Jenna, Becky, and Jared Gillaspie. Amanda Curtright, who Carl adopted as his own as Michelle's close friend and sister. All a second family for Michelle. And we must not forget Veronica Presley, Addyson’s grandmother who provides a home and care for Addyson. Lastly, our good friend and Michelle’s good friend, Teresa Hendrix, who supported, loved, and provided for Michelle.

Michelle was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Max Carlton Deason, Jr, (known to everyone as Carl) and Vickie Thomas Deason on May 28, 1991. She attended Bartlett High School and Gateway Christian School, graduating in 2009. She later took classes at the University of Memphis. After graduating high school, Michelle had many talents working as a server, bartender, ABA technician at Harwood, and as an electrician.

Michelle was a tender-hearted person who always had a love for children. Her greatest achievement for her and biggest part of her identity was being a mother. She was a social person who made so many friends throughout her lifetime. Even as a child, she was always such a giving spirit and great empathy for others, particularly underdogs. She was extremely intelligent and creative, having a love for writing and singing. She had a great sense of humor, and her laughter was often described as contagious. She was a true story teller, often captivating others with her hilarious stories. She had a love for life and had a passion for things she believed in.

Michelle is and will always be treasured. Michelle’s death was sudden and has left her family and friends in turmoil. Michelle had dreams of a new job, a closer relationship with her children, her family and her friends and her dog Sophie. She was taken too soon, and we will all miss and love her.
