Melissa Jane Clay (Lockhart), 53, of Parkersburg WV, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025. Born on October 28, 1971 in Parkersburg WV., Melissa was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother.

Melissa graduated from Parkersburg High School. She was passionate about wrestling & football, drawing & puzzles, and spending time with her family & friends.

Melissa is survived by her two children, Byron Matlack (Sarah Jane) & Brian Matlack, and granddaughter Zoey Jane Weekley. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Lawrence and Alice Lockhart, Juanita & Fredrick Stoops, and father Charles W. Lockhart. She left behind her mother, Debra J. Keller, sister Juanita L. Miller, her three brothers, John, Channing, Charles Jr., her beloved uncle Dee “Fred Stoops,” along with several nieces & nephews.

No service at this time, will have a celebration of life, Spring 2025.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society.

Melissa will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family & friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

¿Cómo impactó Melissa tu vida?

Missy was like a sister to me. We spent a lot of time during our teenage years roaming the streets with our bikes that we got for Christmas and going to the City Park. We sang a lot of Amy Grant songs ALL the time. I lost contact with her as we got older but I will cherish all out times as kids together. Missy, you are forever in my heart, Sis.
