25 de diciembre de 1961 - 29 de septiembre de 2023
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maynard Sylvester Harvey Jr., affectionately known as Pancho, who left us on September 29, 2023, after a courageous year-long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He departed peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones in his San Antonio, FL, home, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering determination.
Maynard's life was a testament to the values of family, love, and dedication. He was a loving father, a devoted brother, and a true friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness and warm-hearted nature left an indelible mark on the lives of those he touched.
Throughout his professional career, Maynard dedicated himself to the field of education, leaving a lasting impact on the minds of countless students. He believed in the transformative power of knowledge and tirelessly worked to impart wisdom and inspire a love for learning. His commitment to education enriched the lives of many, and will continue to do so for generations to come.
Born in Butler, PA, on December 25, 1961, Maynard found his roots in the community where he was raised and where he, in turn, raised his own family. He held Butler close to his heart, and it remained his true home throughout his life.
Maynard's enduring spirit was unwavering, even in the face of adversity. He faced his illness with remarkable courage, never allowing it to diminish his independence, pride, or zest for life. His resilience was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Maynard is survived by his loving wife Lori, two sons, Austin (Stephanie) and Cole (Nikki), two granddaughters (Kaia and Fallon), and a loving extended family of brothers and sisters who shared in his journey. Their bond was unbreakable, and his memory will forever be a source of strength and comfort to them.
The Harvey family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to those who reached out with support and love during this trying time, both in Pennsylvania and Florida.
Details regarding remembrance ceremonies to celebrate Maynard's life will be shared in the coming days, with ceremonies planned in both Florida and Pennsylvania. May we come together to honor a man whose legacy of love, dedication to education, and unwavering spirit will live on in our hearts forever. May Maynard rest in eternal peace.

I am sad to hear of Mr. Harvey’s passing. My son attends Face and we were truly grateful to have him as our principal. He was always so kind and had a huge heart for all the students. The day my son graduated he walked up on stage and gave Mr. Harvey a big hug, and then another hug, and another one. They both just smiled so big. It was truly precious. Mr. Harvey walked Michael to his seat like they were old pals. He was a great man and he will be missed. Prayers to the entire Harvey family.

Pancho was my cross country coach at the Butler Jr High School. He was always so kind and encouraging and ready with a smile and a quick joke. He will be fondly remembered always. Deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
