Rest in eternal peace my friend Max. Your passing on was so sudden. The memories keep flashing back......I keep remembering Diani, chumbi chumbi stories and how we all kept repeating the story and laughing about it. In the end you sent me a video you had captured, shown me how we were happy. Bwana now the banters on Man U na Arsenal haitabamba juu umeenda. I've come to accept that you're gone, may God comfort the little girls you've left. Yes your happiness about your family was an experience too....., the dance styles made all of stand to stage. Maxy - My dear brother! I was shocked to learn about your death. I got goose bumps. How could it have happened so suddenly! We were chatting on WhatsApp up until 31st Oct. Talking about the plans you had for your girls, most specially your first born daughter. Just last month as I got to ride with you, through Kajiado, Machakos and Mwingi. We spoke about many things. Life. Career. Family. Business. Joked about middle-class obsessions. Spoke about our personal failures and fears. A hilarious millennial versus Gen Z type of banter. We drank tea under trees in Kajiado. Ate choma in Kibandaskis. Drank traditional medicinal maasai soup. Drove through paths that you could never find on Google maps. And marvelled at your good memory and mastery of the paths and terrains. We inspected community water points and metres. You always had your paper work in hand. On the last day, in our usual fashion, we wanted to debrief and just chill from the hard work. In that moment, you said you had a date. Your wife. We excused you. The next morning we met both of you the restaurant and had a big family breakfast. You had plans of setting up a foundation to better the lives of your people. Now, they remain just that, plans. I will miss you and pray that the Lord grants your family (your girls as you fondly referred to them) comfort and grace to navigate your loss. Fare Thee Well! Go Well Brother! Till we meet again

Losing Max so suddenly has left us deeply shaken. Max was more than our organisation’s driver, he was a dependable colleague and a genuine friend. I had the privilege of traveling with him for field work, and his calm nature, steady hands on the road, and quiet kindness always made the journey easier. Max cared about the people he worked with. He looked out for us, made sure we were safe, and carried himself with humility and warmth. His presence made long days lighter, and his dedication spoke for itself. For the love of football, you 'dragged' me to a pitch after field work one evening while in Kisii where we stretched our muscles and was a good feeling. It is hard to believe he is gone. The memories of our trips together, the conversations, the laughter, and his gentle spirit will stay with me always. May his soul rest in peace. Gone too soon, Max, but never forgotten.

"Full Beki"... "Fan Wa Man U"... "Super Defender"... "Maxxi"... I honestly dont know where to start. You were more than a colleague, more of a brother, mentor and team mate. From the matches we played, both as team mates and as opponents, to the office and work trips, you always told me "kaka, we are doing well". You will be greatly missed bro. My prayers are with Ma' (wife) and your daughters. May God comfort them and grant them strength and Grace. Rest Well Maxxi

Rest well, Max. Working with you in Kibera was truly a gift. You were the kind of colleague everyone hopes to have cool, humble, easy to talk to, and always ready with a joke to lighten the day. I’ll really miss teasing you about your Manchester United updates on WhatsApp. You touched people with your kindness, your calm spirit, and your ability to connect with everyone around you. You’re gone far too soon, but your warmth, laughter, and the memories you left behind will always stay with us. Gone but never forgotten
