Souvenirs

Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day — unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear

Mary Ann Peterson, age 52, passed away on May 7, 2022, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She faced her illness with remarkable strength and grace, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Born on March 12, 1970, Mary Ann devoted her life to caring for others. She worked as a nurse at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, one of the city’s leading hospitals. Her compassion, dedication, and steady presence brought comfort and healing to countless patients over the years. To her colleagues, she was more than a nurse — she was a source of warmth, wisdom, and friendship.

Mary Ann shared a beautiful marriage with her husband, James Peterson, whose unwavering love and support were a constant source of joy in her life. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth, and two dear friends, Jane and Barbara, who stood by her side through life’s joys and challenges.

Outside of her work, Mary Ann found peace in life’s simple pleasures — tending her garden, reading, and spending quiet evenings with James. She had a gentle spirit, a kind heart, and a gift for making everyone feel seen and valued.

Mary Ann’s life was defined by love, compassion, and quiet strength. Though she is gone, her memory lives on in the hearts of those she cared for and in the kindness she showed every day.
