When Dawn and Steve married, Marge became my daughter’s MIL. Tom and Marge were the people that I’d always hoped would be my daughters’ in laws. We enjoyed many times together in Arnold, Santa Clara and Atascadero Marge was always ready with an interesting story and always made know her love for her Savior. We will miss her. Dawn, Steve, Phoebe and Stella will miss her.

Margie was my cousin and in many ways also a sister to me. Growing up, she and her mother spent several years visiting us for around a month during the summers. Then when she was a freshman in high school, she and Aunt Alma lived with us for a year while Aunt Iva and Uncle Duke sold their home in North Dakota and moved to San Jose, Ca. Margie was always smart, fun and talented. I remember when we both were taking piano lessons and I would listen to her practice her assignments. They were always full of fancy runs, complicated cords and everything that made beautiful, complicated music. My assignments by comparison were like practicing chopsticks! How I admired her! Her entire life she watched over and supported all of us and never did she forget that her mother, Aunt Alma, a single parent with only the income she was able to make, had worked hard and given her all to make sure Margie had the best possible life possible. Marjorie’s love and loyalty are something that will always be her and will never be forgotten!

John and I met Marge when our sons, Jeff and Steve, were in the same 2 year old Sunday School class that Marge taught at Valley Church in Cupertino California. She invited us to Steve's 3 year old birthday party and I remember the theme was fire engines...so fun. It was fun for our boys to grow up together, in fact, Marge and Tom took them to a horse camp when they were in 9th grade and for a quick tour of the western US! We moved to Arnold in 1987 and Tom and Marge retired there in the 90's. We enjoyed their fellowship at church. They made many friends up here and were a blessing to all. Marge was always interested in our growing family and never left Arnold without slipping us $20 "for pizza for the kids". God bless you, Steve and Dawn and Phoebe and Stella. You were a great joy to her! We love you.

I have been blessed knowing Marge for the past 5 years. Driving her to the medical appt, hairdresser, and just as important shopping. Marge was very proud of all of her family. We spent hours organizing the family albums. She will share a story about each picture she picked up. Marge cherishes the times she spent with her granddaughter, Phobe and Stella. She realized how blessed she was to have Steve and Dawn care for her. She will be missed.

Steve and Dawn, I am sorry for your loss. Aunt Margie was a delight to me and my brothers. As young children, we lived in San Jose and got to see her often. She was always kind and loving towards us. And fun! We moved to San Diego in 1968 and didn't see her very many times since then, unfortunately. I remember when she would visit us in San Jose and just be our loving and enchanting Aunt, when her mom, my Aunt Alma, would babysit us, give us ice cream then tell us we took bites that were too big. She would take these really small bites and say, "this is how you eat ice cream" and we would crack up and say, "No Aunt Alma, this is how you eat ice cream!" and take the biggest bites we could fit in our mouths. I remember taking a road trip with Aunt Margie and my mom to Oregon when I was about 4 years old. I remember when she met Uncle Tom and introduced us to him. I could tell (in hindsight) that he really liked her because he was so nice to us, taking us for rides on his motorcycle. (We were just these little kids most older folks didn't pay much attention to.) I remember visiting her and she told me all about my Tewkesbury and Mayflower Compact heritage. I remember when Steve and Dawn married and when she came to my wedding. I regret that I didn't see her more often. We would exchange a letter from time to time which was very nice. She always showed me such love.

Bette and I have many fond memories of Margie and brother Tom,especially when they retired to Arnold. When Bette entered the local quilt show at Margie’s urging (twice),all of the siblings came to Arnold for the show which was a mini family reunion put on by Margie. What a gracious host she was, always making room for all of us and serving great food. Wonderful memories.
