Lucas Vicente Ascension Martinez, age 28, a resident of Chimayo, formerly of Albuquerque, passed away June 25, 2022 as a result of a tragic accident. Lucas was born on December 11, 1993 in Santa Fe, NM.

Lucas attended the McCurdy and Pojoaque schools. Under them he worked for Miller Bonded, Year Out Support Services, GEW Mechanical, JB Henderson, Los Alamos National Laboratory Craft, and he was presently working for Butler Sheet Metal.
Lucas’ favorite pastime was spending time with his daughters. Lucas was a mama’s boy and proud of it, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his mother. He loved the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Lucas was a devout traditional Catholic who attended the Latin Mass and prayed the rosary on a daily basis. Lucas was an ambitious and driven hard working man. Lucas was beautiful inside and out. He was a kind and loving soul who was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Rivera Funeral Home, Father Jose Herrera for the beautiful Latin Mass, Ellen Leitner for the beautiful music, Father Julio for his beautiful prayers at the burial site, Father Nathan for attending the burial and being a mentor to Lucas, Fairview Flowers for the beautiful spray, Mrs. Jaramillo and Janet Malcom for the delicious food, and everyone for their love and support who sent Mass Intentions, monetary donations and food.
