Lorraine A. Maley, 77, passed away on April 30, 2022. She was born on August 22, 1944 in Pecos, NM to Trinidad Ortega and Juan Varela. Lorraine married Richard (Dick) Maley on February 29, 1996 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Trinidad (Trini) Ortega and Juan Varela, husband; Richard (Dick) Maley, brothers; Gonzalo J. Varela (Helen) Billy Varela and like a son James (Jimmy) Varela, sisters; Dolores (Johnny Ortiz) and Betty (Frankie Varela).
She is survived by her brother; Gene Varela, sons; Eric Herrera (Monique), Daryl Quintana, Clint Wells (Cindy) Santiago Feliz, Granddaughters; Sativa Herrera, Trinity Herrera, Alexia Herrera, Cattleya Herrera, Kiera Herrera, grandson; Conner Wells.
Lorraine was a graduate of Pecos High School. Lorraine was a devoted Catholic and loved her family. She left behind many relatives and friends that will continue to miss and love her through eternity.
Full Catholic Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.

At a time when I had no hope Lorraine gave me a gift I'll always treasure - she saw me and loved me anyway. Lorraine always let me be my true self and gave the same to me. She always spoke her mind and expected the same in return. She called me her sister and today my family in heaven has one more member waiting to greet me when my time comes. ¡Que Dios la bendiga!

Our sincere condolences to the family of beautiful Lorraine. I will miss her honesty and quick wit - I have a one liner she told me years ago that always brings a smile to my face when I tell it. We will miss her frequent visits to Ramblin' Cafe and eating her favorite carne adovada dish. May her family find love and comfort as they reflect upon the memories they shared with her here on earth. She is now shining her bright light in heaven. John 14:1-4
