Lois Deidre Warnock

Lois Deidre Warnock 78 of Greenup, Ky went home to be with the Lord Monday February 10, 2025 at SOMC Hospice Care Center in Portsmouth, Oh. Mrs. Warnock was born in Ashland, Ky on March 3, 1946 a daughter of the late George and Melba Skaggs Warnock. Including her parents also proceeding her in death is a sister Lou Craft. She was a 1964 graduate from Wurtland High School and was a retired Teacher from the Greenup County School System, spending most of her career at Wurtland Elementary School teaching grades K-5 with 36 years of service. She attended Wurtland Freewill Baptist Church and was a former member of Three Mile Baptist Church. She enjoyed teaching and dedicated her life to helping mold young minds and strived to help each child in any way possible. She was active in the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and still volunteered frequently at Wurtland Elementary. Survivors include her husband of 24 years Roger Warnock, a son Kevin (Andrea) Boggs of South Shore, Ky, a daughter Melissa (Steve) Yates of Wurtland, Ky, 3 stepsons Danny (Jenny) Warnock of Greenup, Ky, Jim Warnock of Raceland, Ky, and Jason “Bub” (Melanie) Warnock of Greenup, Ky, 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a sister Janice (John) Kouns of Greenup, Ky, and many extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 18, 2025 at Wurtland Elementary School at 1 PM Rev. Alfred Freeman and Bro. John Kouns officiating. Burial will follow afterwards at Fred Wheelersburg Memorial Cemetery in Greenup, Ky. Visitation will be held on Monday February 17, 2025 from 6-8 PM at Wurtland Elementary School and from noon until the funeral service hour on Friday February 18, 2025.
