Linwood Davis Faunce

Linwood was born on Februrary 4, 1923 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts to Davis Collins and Jennie May (Adams) Faunce. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a radio gunner on a B-17 bomber crew. He Flew 26 dangerous missions during the early part of his military service. For his valor, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and over the course of his military service he received ten other commendations and medals. He married Marva Penney on May 31, 1944 in Goldsboro, North Carolina at the Seymour-Johnson AFB Chapel. After serving 22 years he retired from the Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, he began his second career with the Utah Department of Transportation in 1967. He worked in the Accounting and Auditing Department. He retired from there in 1987 and moved to Buhl, Idaho.
