Laurie Ann Gent

Laurie Ann (Welch) Gent, age 78, died August 25, 2021 in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Beloved by her husband Ian, son Lauren, and daughter Stacy. She is survived by siblings Sharon Welch, Gustin Welch, Mary Jane Randall, William Welch and Martha Piemonte. She will also be missed by nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Raised in Niagara Falls, NY and educated at Case Western Reserve University she pursued a career in information technology, a field that included few women at that time. She used her skills in roles with IBM, Emedco, and Twelve/Three Marketing, as well as when working as an Independent Health Medicare RedShirt.

Donations in her memory may be made to Mission: Ignite (Computers For Children). Being respectful of COVID and understanding travel concens and international border restrictions, memorial services will be held at a later date.
