I have known Kishi for as long as I have known Keshia. I met Keshia at university, and she later introduced me to him, so I've had the chance to be around him in different moments over the years. I still remember being over at their home while working on assignments. I would hear Kishi calling to check in on Keshia, asking if I was there or what I was cooking that day. It was always lighthearted and familiar. I also remember him with the children. One time he came home from a business trip and brought back beautiful white dresses for Kaelee and Kimoya. He never separated them in how he showed love; it was always equal and intentional. He was someone who worked very hard and was always doing something around the house fixing, building, or redesigning things. But more than that, he cared deeply about family and believed strongly in teaching the children responsibility. He often explained that the way he was raised shaped him and that he wanted those same lessons to prepare them for life. I'm glad the children got to experience his presence and what it looks like and feels like to have a father who loves them and is involved, present, and intentional. I can still hear him heading out the door, saying, "Soon come my yute, yeah soon come." That was just his signature way of saying goodbye. It is sad that this time he has left for good, but his voice is never going to leave our hearts. Rest peacefully, Kishi

One of my most cherished memories is our family trip to Disneyland in 2013. When your family and mine shared that experience together, we created memories that I will hold close to my heart forever. I can still remember your smile and the joy we all shared. Those moments have become even more precious with time. Rest peacefully, Kishi. You will be deeply missed and forever loved my nephew. - Norman Hyde
