I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Kelly. She was a lovely lady with a heart of gold. I remember back in college when I first met Carlie being incredibly nervous to meet her parents but they welcomed me in with open arms and it was the first time I felt like a friend or partner's parents were truly family. Kelly was a huge part of that and we shared many a laugh, probably sometimes at Carlie's expense (and then back at me at my own expense), but always in good fun. Sending much love to Tom and Carlie at this difficult time. Our time together might be a distant memory but it's one I've always cherished and always will. I hope you take some comfort in knowing that Kelly made an impact on many people's lives, a scar on many people's hearts, and she will be greatly missed.

Kelly always had the nicest shoes! I am sooo sorry for this loss. She was great spirited. And always energetic to go out. She will be missed. She was always willing to do anything. Will Miss seeing her and catching up. Take care and cherish the memories. She was very very proud of her family. And excited to update on all Carlie’s successes in life.

Kelly and I worked together for over 20 years. She was always so kind and generous with her time. I remember her visiting me at home when each of my babies were born, her visits were so important to me because she had such great advice and a calming presence. I loved Kelly’s sharp sense of humour, her funky style and her matter of fact approach to life. I know Kelly has been an endless fighter with her health and did this with the most dignified, humorous and tireless determination. The manner in which she would tell me about fighting for her life on more than one occasion was so unreal. She really was one of a kind! I didn’t know everything about Kelly but I knew the most important things. She absolutely lived for Tom and Carlie….and her dogs :) She talked about you both with such love and light in her eyes. She was so proud of your family. . Tom, I am so grateful you and Kelly and Pheobe were able to come out for a walk at our place not so long ago. I thoroughly enjoyed that visit and will hold that memory close to my heart. Kelly, rest in peace my friend. Relish in the realm you are in now, pain free and guiding Tom and Carlie and Ariel from above. Sending you all peace and warmth as you navigate the sadness and void losing Kelly has left.

Dear Carlie and Tom, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. My favourite memory of Kelly will always be that time we went to Masonville Mall together with your grandmother and hit up The Bay. We all wore silly hats and ran around the store laughing… though we thought we were in trouble, she took us to the games/hobbies store and got us “Puzz-3Ds”. I’ll also cherish those days when she drove us to the Maize Mazes, to Braxton’s, and to the St. Anne’s Fair. She was one of the coolest mom’s I ever met. If it isn’t her kind and generous spirit, then it will be her laughter that I’ll hear when I think of her. Sending all my love. Mike

I worked with Kelly and there was never a boring shift when we were able to work together! My favourite memory was her random decision that we were going to African Lion Safari one day…so of course we did; her, myself and four people she thought would have a great time! We had an amazing day, one of my best! I also remember her love for animals and visiting your house to meet a little furless dog with a collection of outfits and mandatory sunscreen applications. :) Kelly was truly a good, kind person. I’m grateful to have known her. Thinking of you all.
