Dear family and friends of the late KC Toh,
Thank you for visiting our Pop's memorial page.
Sadly most of you could not pay your final respects to him in person due to restrictions presently in place. We hope this website serves as a place where you can share your favourite "KC memories" with our family and others who loved him. To do so, please click in the "Write a tribute" box at the bottom or right side of the Profile tab. Please also share memorable photos if you have some.
We have uploaded Pop's funeral video and our eulogies. If you would like to view them, please click on the "Mementos" tab and look for the files named "Funeral video" and "Eulogy video".
With love,
Eric and Sharon

Facebook has asked me this evening, “What is on my mind?” Well, I learnt yesterday that one of my oldest, dearest friends in Malaysia has passed away. What compounds the sense of loss are feelings of profound regret. Regret brought about by faulty thinking. Thinking that we’ll always have time to catch up with friends, that we can put off that rendezvous until things are more “settled” that we can celebrate together once that “next deal” is closed….or the next time I’m in town. Yet, as the years roll by friends continue to become items on a to-do list and then those same friends all too suddenly become nothing more than Memories…and it is devastating to realise I sacrificed those connections, those relationships, those friendships for an abstract idea of what the future may hold. So to my friends who are reading this, my advice, as cliché as it may sound, is to embrace those closest to you, pay attention to the people in your life who resonate with you, engage with those who you admire, surround yourself with those who you respect and immerse your self in the relationships of people you love. My dearest friend KC Toh passed away 2 years ago… yet I had no idea. And Today, I miss him dearly. I miss our banter. I miss our culinary adventures. I miss your intellect, your endearing yet unabashed hypocrisy, ( a young earth physicist ) your generosity of spirit and most of all your sincere and unconditional friendship. I loved you KC. Tomorrow will be my first Father's Day without Pop and for my children their first without Ah Kong. Dearly missed in so many ways. (Picture from June 2019)

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Brother KC as he is fondly called by his friends, can be described as one who is full of joy, warm, kind heart, full of love, generous, always having a heart for the poor, always seeking for the good of others, always concern for the well being of others. This is the KC I know during my encounter with him. To Eric, Jane, Keith, Kyle, Kate, Sharon, Marcus and loved ones; may you know the nearness and comfort of the Holy Spirit. Be strong and may the peace of God that passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds through our Lord Jesus Christ, as we look to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our Faith, for He has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you. Shalom, Joseph.

Classic Pop in this picture, enjoying his favourite "bak eu phok" by the jar. Equally classic was how he charmed his way into receiving the entire jar from the char kuay teow seller, gratis. Also equally classic, the way he offered the jar around the table because "good things must be shared". It's hard to believe it's been a year since Pop suddenly left us. Bak eu phok will never be the same. Indeed, nothing ever will be the same. Love you Pops.

We knew Uncle KC as the intelligent and witty uncle with a wealth of information, from science to theology to even where to find the cheapest mixed rice. But beyond that, he was someone who wasn't afraid to speak the truth, even if it was disadvantageous for him to do so. Despite his illness, he never let it get in his way, and truly lived his life for the Lord. He has run the good race, and has left behind great footsteps for us to follow.

'Sometimes you can do the wrong things right and the right things wrong. Or you can totally do the wrong things wrong. The most important is to do the right things right.' - I remembered this when my boss said that in front of us in 1996. If there is any local "tech celebrity" that made an impact on the IT industry, nation and myself, KC is one of them. He had so much they wanted to do for the country that was ahead of time. I was there to hear his excitement, after he returned from those meetings, of the vision and making Malaysia great. Some things were implemented and some were politically disabled. These are the men the country will never remember for their contribution and sacrifice but I am one of them who will.
