30 septembre 1971 - 25 décembre 2020
On December 25, 2020, Kathryn Martin passed away after a courageous battle against cancer. Kathryn was born on September 30, 1971 in Newry, County Down, UK to Derek & Ann Martin. She received degrees in Chemistry with German from the University of Hull, European Business Administration from the University of the West of England, and a Masters in Business Administration from Bristol Business School. She was happily sharing her life with her fiancé, Lionel Paillon, her beloved partner of many years, and was engaged to be married. She is survived by her parents Derek & Ann Martin, along with her brother David and her fiancé Lionel Paillon.
An Intel employee for a combined 14 years since 1998, most recently based in Paris, France, Kathryn held a variety of roles in Europe. She was an Embedded & Comms Sales & Marketing Director, Regional Embedded Sales Director and most recently was the GE Strategic Global Account Director for EMEA. Her regional and global roles resulted in a broad network not only at Intel, but also with her customers. Her fearless personality enabled her to meet countless other customer and partner contacts while attending various tradeshows. Kathryn also was the European Embedded Sales Director during her 5 years with McAfee.
Kathryn loved Ireland, but also enjoyed travelling around the world. She lived in numerous countries in Europe and was fluent in English, French, German & Russian. As a frequent traveller, she was amazingly adept at navigating all modes of transportation around Europe. Kathryn hosted numerous colleagues who visited Europe and enjoyed sharing the local culture and experiences with them. Her colleagues will forever treasure their time with her in Europe, spending their days with clients and evenings at the Christmas markets across Germany. Kathryn was passionate about horses and enjoyed not only riding, but also cheering on equestrian teams in Ireland and France. She cared deeply for the planet and especially the effects of pollution on wildlife.
Kathryn was known for her sense of humour, warm smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit. She will be missed dearly by those that knew her.
Service and interment will take place this coming Friday, January 8th, in Northern Ireland at First Anaghclone Presbyterian Church.
Due to the Covid-19 situation in the UK, it is not possible to arrange additional funeral flowers. However, donations in lieu of flowers shall be collected in Kathryn’s name for The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust and Cancer Research through Spiers Funeral Services. Kathryn and I have always kept in touch over the last 20 years though our careers paths at Intel were different. The last few years we did more frequently write to each other and sharing our life's events and recently that she got engaged. She has kept such a positive attitude and her big smile throughout her illness and the tough times and I am devastated she has passed away. Her big smile, her sense of humor, her passion for traveling and good food - this is how I will remember her. Rest in peace Kathryn

Kathryn @ Cebit in 2000 - year I have met her being part of the same team - Intel Inside Sales. She was always so thirsty of knowledge, very good with customers and my go-to person when I first started my role. You will be truly missed. xx

Kathryn was always smiling as we traveled...be it planes, trains or taxis! This was taken on a train in Germany, on our way to Embedded World.
